A round-up of the medical equipment and supplies GAZHP and our partners sourced, funded and shipped as Zambia battled the third wave of COVID-19.
Oxygen concentrators
- Ten 10-litre oxygen concentrators purchased by GAZHP from China were delivered to the airline for freight, expected to arrive in Zambia within a week or two.
- Ten 5-litre oxygen concentrators were sourced by GAZHP from Turkey, with freight support in advanced stages of being secured.
PPE from the UK diaspora
PPE donated by UK-based Zambians and shipped by GAZHP for handover to the Ministry of Health included:
- 6,000 face shields
- 20,000 surgical masks
- 100 disposable gowns
- 100 alcohol sanitisers
- 1,000 aprons
- 1,000 gloves
Pulse oximeters
200 pulse oximeters — donated by Lifebox after being contacted by GAZHP — were handed over, including 200 covers and 200 paediatric oxygen sensors.
